I am a private maths tutor based in Manchester with a first-class maths degree from Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge and Qualified Teacher Status in teaching secondary mathematics.

I have several years' experience of both classroom teaching and private tutoring and whether you need a full programme of study to get you through GCSE, a boost to get you the grades you need for university or just relief from an algebra-induced headache, I look forward to helping you with your maths and watching you succeed.
ONE-ON-ONE LESSONS
I offer online tutoring for students in the UK and abroad and in-person tutoring at my home in Hadfield with individualised tutoring programmes from KS3 through to A Level Further Maths.
As a first-class graduate from Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge, I can also offer support with Oxbridge entrance papers (MAT and STEP) and some degree-level maths if required.

CUSTOMISED RESOURCES
Everyone learns differently.
I have a wide range of resources to call upon to aid teaching, whether you learn best through kinaesthetic activities such as match-up tasks, need extra scaffolding to guide you through how a technique works, or just need something fun to keep you motivated.

In particular, I discovered as a classroom teacher that there is a dearth of resources that offer full scaffolding to practice basic skills or match-up tasks that are quick to prepare.
As such, I have created my own Scaffolded Resources and Match-Up Tasks pages on TES with resources available for download. You can also download them for a reduced price by clicking the link below.

For the super-keen, I have also developed Extensions with solutions that indulge my passion for outside-the-box thinking and offer particularly challenging problems to tackle.
My son was told he would never pass an exam and in his final year was diagnosed with a specific learning difficulty. David’s understanding of how best to teach and relate to Ben was outstanding. His relaxed nature showed Ben that he was more than capable of passing his exams, he just needed to be taught in a different way. Ben passed his GCSE Maths and in total achieved 7 GCSEs. We are extremely grateful and highly recommend David.

David is helping my daughter with her A level maths, she attends one of the top independent girls schools and had been struggling with confidence on various topics, feedback from my daughter so far has been that his teaching methods (these are her words) are done in such way that you remember everything he's taught you, he makes maths fun and I have more confidence now because he makes sure I understand the topic before moving on to another, and even though its a 2 hour session I don't get bored, I really enjoy it. Hand-made worksheets that guide you through basic skills by getting you to fill in boxes with missing working.
As the questions progress, the scaffolding is taken away so that you can have a go on your own.
MATCH-UP TASKS
Starters and worksheets that get you to draw lines to match up workings with answers or guide you through how to solve problems by ringing the correct working.
EXTENSIONS
Extension tasks and full worksheets with answers to both enrich and add to GCSE and A level syllabuses.
